The Kind Of Books We Want:

The field of electronic publishing is brand new. We believe that the books best suited for our concept will be:

• Books that have gone out of print
• Books by new authors
• Reference Titles

We believe that the books least suited for our type of publishing are:

• Best Sellers - Regular Publishers will handle these
• Heavily Illustrated - Printing Presses do such higher quality

Contract Terms:

We Will:

• Add your book to our system.
• Advertise that your book is available.
• Collect the payment from the customer.
• Pay you standard author royalties.

You will:

• Give us rights to use your copyright for electronic distribution.
• Insure us that you own the rights you give us.
• Allow us to sell your book for an initial six months.
• After that you may withdraw book at any time if you are not satisfied with us.

Payments:

• There are no charges to you for us to publish your book if you supply us the book on diskette or send it to us over the net.
• There may be a nominal charge for us to scan or type your book if it is only available on paper -- This is usually about $100 if we can scan it, more if we have to retype, much more if we have to read your handwriting.
• We pay the standard author's royalty of 10% on the gross amount received for all books sold.

This information is what we need first. This is the basic information that we give to the visitor to our web site for all books.

One of the questions we ask you is for the Dewey Decimal Classification number that best fits your book. We understand that your specialty is not cataloging, but if you can scan our "Browse by Subject" area and pick one or more areas that describe your book, it will be a big help. After all, you know your book better than we do.

Note that a book may fit into several categories. The Alhambra, by Washington Irving is somewhat of a travelogue about Europe, somewhat of a series of stories about Spain, and somewhat of a book of literature. As such, we list it in each category. The more categories, the more people will see your book. This is one of the advantages of electronic publishing rather than putting the book on paper. We can put links to the book in several places. A paper book can go on only one shelf in the library.
